HOFF PRODUCTIONS EXPANDS EXECUTIVE TEAM AND ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENTS
SAN FRANCISCO - October 12, 2005 -
Non-fiction television powerhouse Hoff Productions, Inc. has announced the expansion of its executive team by tapping Lisa Mao as Director of Business Development. In addition, Shirley Tatum has been promoted to Creative Director and Dennis Newburne to Vice President Finance & Operations. President and Executive Producer Michael Hoff made the announcements today.
Lisa Mao joins Hoff Productions as Director of Development and will oversee the development of new series and specials, manage marketing and distribution efforts, and handle new and existing business outlets. She will report to Michael Hoff, President and Executive Producer. Mao comes to Hoff Productions from Indigo Films where she managed program development as well as produced shows for cable networks National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, and Travel Channel. Previously Mao worked at Discovery Communications, Inc. (DCI) in Business Affairs, Discovery Channel International, and Travel Channel. Mao coordinated video licensing contracts for TLC's Ready, Set, Learn while in Business Affairs and later moved to the then newly-acquired Travel Channel where she sought program acquisitions and worked with outside producers to develop new series. As a member of Discovery Channel International's programming team, she worked with regional programmers to position both DCI and non-DCI properties into branded programming line-ups in Asia.
"Lisa's network background, creativity, and broad knowledge of the cable industry make her a great asset to Hoff Productions's celebrated development team," Hoff said. Shirley Tatum has also been named to the newly created position of Creative Director. Tatum will contribute her unique perspective, sharp ideas, and fascinating insights to the overall development and execution of new series and specials. Previously Tatum was Senior Writer overseeing all scripts for Hoff Productions series such as I, Detective produced for Court TV, and Command Decisions for The History Channel. Tatum joined Hoff Productions in 2000 as a writer for Discovery Civilization's Ties That Bind. Prior to joining Hoff Productions, Tatum wrote for the popular online Crime Library currently owned and operated by Court TV.
Dennis Newburne was promoted to Vice President Finance & Operations. He was formerly Sr. Director Finance & Operations. With more than 20 years of experience in operations, finance, and production management, Newburne will oversee all accounting, banking, and financial forecasting and planning for Hoff Productions.
