After months of polling our readers for their input, realscreen emerges, for the fourth year in a row, with its Global 100 - our listing of the most influential production companies in the world for 2008.

If there's one thing that can be said about Michael Hoff Productions, it's that it's prolific. That was the word that came through in a number of the votes for the Emeryville, California-based company. Producing programs for Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, PBS, Nat Geo Channel, Smithsonian, TLC and many others, MHP is a hit with cable.

This year is looking good for the company as well. First, it marks Michael Hoff Productions' 15th anniversary, and second, it's recently announced the opening of a New York office, to be headed up by Jessica Winchell Morsa (ex-Atlas Media Corp. and Engel Entertainment). Hoff says strong ratings performances for many of their productions last year, in particular Extreme Forensics for Investigation Discovery, make now a good time to open a new outpost.
