Hoff Productions has announced that it will produce Chain Gang Girls for WE tv and Climate Quiz with Bill Nye for The Weather Channel, for broadcast in the first quarter of 2008 and the fourth quarter of 2007, respectively.
Shot over a six-week period in the Arizona desert, Chain Gang Girls is a two-hour observational documentary following the lives of incarcerated women shackled and working together on an actual prison chain gang.
Climate Quiz, a series of interstitials, follows Bill Nye, the "Science Guy," as he asks climate-related questions to people on the street in Los Angeles and New York.
"We're excited to be working with two solid brands on such diverse subjects as prison and weather," said Michael Hoff, the company's president and executive producer. "The chain gang stories are amazing and truly show how each of us is only a hair's breadth away from the wrong side of the law. On the flip side, Climate Quiz presents great water-cooler information about the Earth and our affect on the environment in a fun and entertaining Q&A format."
Hoff Productions is also seeing several productions premiere this fall including Hooked Again: More Monster Fish, Caught Barehanded and Fishzilla on the National Geographic Channel; Green Wheels on Voom's Equator HD; and Top 401K Mistakes on the Fine Living Network.
